Subject: Join Our Movement to Open the First Black-Owned Vegan Donut Shop in Manhattan
We are thrilled to announce that Cloudy Donut is expanding into Manhattan! On October 22, 2022, we opened our doors to what became the first Black-owned business in Brooklyn Heights and now “the best vegan donut shop in NY” by Veg News. Our energy has always been rooted in fearlessness, and with your support, we are ready to take the next step.
As we grow our company and move into a world larger than us, we must come together. That's why we're turning to you, our community, to fund Cloudy Donut's new location and get more back. NuMarket is a crowdfunding platform that makes it easy for food and beverage businesses to raise funds for their community in exchange for credits, specifically 120% of the amount they contributed.
Cloudy Donut was founded in 2020 in Baltimore, MD, and that same year we rented our first property in Brooklyn Heights, NY. During that time, the world was at its peak, at the height of the pandemic and Black Lives Matter Movement. Many businesses shut down and several people retreated outside of their norm. But not us. We knew if we galvanized the community and provided a quality product, we’d be able to grow. This growth led us into two brick and mortar stores in Baltimore, which we own, and a new rental shop in Brooklyn Heights, NY.
Now, with your help, we can become the first Black-owned vegan donut shop in Manhattan. We may currently be the first, standing as the only, but with your help—we will not be the last. We call upon your support to assist us in securing the next Cloudy Donut shop in the heart of New York City.
To be fearless. To act and move in spaces that were not made for us. To make noise in rooms where we are expected to be silent. To BE and to become.
