About Bad Cholesterol Bakery’s NuMarket Campaign
“In September 2021, I quit my job as a lawyer to . . . I didn’t really know. I was burnt out and befuddled about what to do next. And so I channeled my energies into the preferred spiritual outlet of former lawyers-with-liberal-arts-degrees: cooking. And in turn, I sought the guidance of the amateur cook’s patron saint: Julia Child. I cooked through her classic Mastering the Art of French Cooking. It helped. Eventually, I took a tray of two dozen very poor imitations of Ms. Child’s croissants to Cobble Hill Park in Brooklyn. I tried to sell some. Reader, I did sell some.
I should not have! They were very bad! There were half a dozen bakeries just blocks away. (One of them has a James Beard nomination!) But never mind: In my life, no work had filled me up quite like that. I knew what to do. I had a career. And so Bad Cholesterol Bakery was born. Some things have changed since then. For starters, the croissants are much better. I developed a penchant for sourdough breads. I also made a business out of popping-up at New York’s best breweries. Because beer and pizza go hand in hand, I transitioned to a “Primarily Pizza” concept. It was a natural extension of my work with sourdough. It worked for me.
Two years later, the business is expanding. I’m moving into a private kitchen suite in Downtown Brooklyn. I’m partnering with some brewery friends to offer Bad Cholesterol pizza at their taprooms. I’m starting a delivery service. I’m hiring employees. I’m inundated with private event requests. I even occasionally talk to New York magazine about our favorite pizza ovens or can openers.
I’m busy! And busy costs. So I’m coming to you for support. My NuMarket campaign will fund Bad Cholesterol’s expansion. Rent. Salary. Insurance. Equipment. Everything. Every little bit helps. And you get 120% in credits for every dollar you contribute. So fund BCB if you can. But even if you can’t, come see me. I’d love to make you a pizza. It’s good for you.”
We would love for you to match the voice and tone of this copy above.

Here are examples of captions that worked well in the past for different campaigns:
“Psst! We’re coming to Brookline (and we need your help!).
To fund our next location, we’re launching a campaign with
a crowdfunding platform for small businesses, to turn your contributions into credits to use at our current location or for nationwide shipping.
For every $1 you put into this campaign, you'll get back 20% more in credits. So you get 20% more of our delicious bagels and lox (and help us bring your favorite Jewish deli classics across the river).
