Dear Ploo Community,

We are excited to announce the launch of our NuMarket campaign! As you know, NuMarket is a crowdfunding platform that makes it easy for food and bev businesses to raise funds for their community in exchange for credits, specifically, 120% of the amount they contributed.

We need your help to take Ploo to the next level. As firsts in our family to become business owners, a lot of the growth we’ve made these past six months at Ploo has come from leaping headfirst into unknown trades and adapting swiftly as our only option—embracing crucial overnight skills in everything from accounting, plumbing, obscure wines, bartending, Human Resources, kitchen alchemy, etc, as we cannot afford to pay people to be these things for our company just yet. And although we are proud of how resilient we continue to be, we also recognize the undeniable necessity for hiring a professional Marketing strategist, hiring a sous chef, and upgrading our kitchen equipment (an ice cream machine that won’t break in a month, pretty freaking please!) There are many unexplored culinary avenues we want to introduce like developing our own line of baked goods, desserts and limited-seating chef counter dinners, and without having these bases covered, the very absolute craft we are best at (cooking) suffers.

Through this campaign, you are helping Ploo hire skilled staff to support our chef-counter service and unique fine-casual culinary explorations. Every dollar we raise will help us build necessary upgrades to our space and cooking equipment as well as our ever-growing Mexican wine repertoire, highlighting the best of Mexican spirits and beer we have not seen offered in NYC. With your help, we hope to establish a concrete online presence, LETTING NYC KNOW OUR STORY, OUR MISSION, AND HOW INCREDIBLE we’ve been told our food is!
