  1. Take some time to compile your close friends, family, and people who you’ll be reaching out privately before the campaign launches. Two days before the campaign, they’ll be able to be the first to contribute and help you share your campaign when it’s time!

  3. TWO days before your launch day, send out your emails/texts/calls using the scripts below. Adjust the messaging to fit your voice and include your personal campaign details. Don’t forget to include the link to the campaign!

    How to talk to them:

    Be honest, direct, and appreciative of all of their support so far. Don’t forget to let them know what they’ll be getting in return.

    Email example: “Hi friends! What a year it’s been for us. After packing up our whole lives up, moving to Camden, Maine, and opening our our micro-bakery in an old workshop where local Camden high school sweethearts lived + grew old together, we’ve truly found our community. It’s because of you that our pastries continue to sell out and The Place has become the community hub we’ve always dreamt of! As many of you know, our little slice of fresh baked heaven is just that… it’s little. To keep up with demand and bake up even more deliciousness for you and the Camden community, we need your help! We’re launching a NuMarket campaign to help us fund a brand new walk in freezer which would allow us to bake and create 5x more croissants, buns, hand pies, and more. You’ve been SUCH a huge part of our journey so far, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next. Your contributions would allow us to purchase our new industrial freezer and pay for the build out it would require to make it a part of our space.   5. Update your list as people begin to contribute. If they don’t immediately, that’s okay! Use the spreadsheet to follow up with this very important group of supporters throughout the campaign. You can send them campaign updates or things like special contribution incentives just for them. Whatever it takes to get them excited to be a part of your growth!
