Food & drink businesses make our lives and communities vibrant, strong and sustainable. Everyone has a restaurant, café, snack brand or wine shop they can’t live without. NuMarket is a unique crowdfunding model that helps those businesses raise funds from their community of believers in exchange for credits that are delivered in installments to funders. We are focused on financial inclusion and building a model of mutual value for our customers.

The role
We’re looking for a growth leader to help NuMarket launch more campaigns for more food & drink entrepreneurs. We need someone with a 0-1 mentality to help us take our first year’s efforts to a new level.
You will:
- Design and execute experiments to drive NuMarket’s growth
- Direct our brand’s voice and positioning
- Iterate on our existing playbook for platform growth and campaign success
- Find opportunities where we don’t currently see them
You’ll achieve the following results in the first 6 months:
- Supply growth: you’ll find and launch 20+ great businesses
- Demand growth: you’ll add at least 3K new funders to the platform
- New markets: help us launch in NYC, LA, and at least one other major city
- Growth funnel: add 100+ growth ambassadors
We’re a small, independent, close-knit team with each person owning multiple “lanes” within the business. As our first growth hire, you’ll be a leader and a voice for what business development looks like at NuMarket.
About you
At your core, you enjoy solving interesting problems and doing worthwhile work. You love the best food spots and are drawn to independent brands and people who make our lives more vibrant. You equally enjoy working on strategic & creative problems and have a focus on customer needs, and you have experience leading teams and growing brands.

We’re growing NuMarket non-traditionally. We don’t use paid media channels or paid advertising. We believe in the strength of our model, product, and community, allowing us to focus on intrinsic motivators and sustainable growth.
With no outside investors, we are extremely independent and driven by impact and revenue growth. We’re focused on serving each other and the communities we engage with every day. We see opportunity everywhere and value thoughtful experimentation, regardless of outcomes.
